About

Originally from Kent Island, Maryland, my journey with music began at my grandmother’s piano for my first lesson at 5 years old. Half-hour lessons turned to 45 minutes turned to 60 minutes and would eventually turn into a half scholarship at Baltimore’s Peabody Preparatory in 8th grade. By 11th grade I was accepted into Peabody’s selective Piano Academy program on full scholarship along with a full scholarship to any other Peabody piano courses for two years. However, even though I loved playing classical and jazz music and dedicated much of my time to this, I felt pulled to pursue a different aspect of music to build my career foundation on.

Every songwriter remembers the first song they ever wrote with part amusement and part embarrassment; mine came at about 10 years old with “The Sports Song.” Not my best work, but I continued coming up with original melodies and progressions and eventually released my first instrumental album at 13 years old.

Two years later, a couple girls from my middle school asked me to record a few acoustic songs of theirs. I thought it’d be fun to surprise them and add other instruments before sending them back, little did I know this would become a part of my daily schedule as a producer in Nashville, TN years down the road.

I fell in love with this process and with their reactions to hearing their own original ideas and expressions in a way that hadn’t been brought into reality before. I then began thinking about how the time between writing and producing can be a sort of catalyst for self discovery as you’re able to view your art objectively and fine tune how you want to be perceived by the world. It was this thought that fueled me to chase this process and figure out a way to turn it into a career.
